Bobbie Hafer

Polson MT

Bobbie Hafer started painting full time  in retirement. It has been a journey that has captured her heart and she can be found working in her studio everyday that she is not out plein air painting with her artist husband David.  They find the beauty in Western Montana hard to exceed, with Glacier Park at their backdoor, Flathead Lake and surrounding areas that all keep them inspired and their brush busy on the canvas.   They both paint realistic landscapes in oil, but Bobbie also paints still life, florals, and some portraits.

As a Christmas gift Bobbie, with the help of Mark Ogle, gave David all he needed to get started; easel, paints, brushes, and a few art lessons from Mark.  After taking two of Mark’s classes, David persisted in wanting Bobbie to join him. Bobbie went “Kicking and screaming” to her first class, having no desire, inclination, or ability. As she said, “I can’t draw a stick person”. The first class she attended was on color theory and she was hooked! Art has truly become a passion and focus on their lives.
