George Garrity

Whitefish MT native Garrity considers himself a recreational artist who simply loves to paint.   His fondest memories are along Glacier’s Going-to-the-Sun Road painting with his plein-air friends. In his early years, George was self-taught, until he retired from the corporate world. Then, he started to study with well-known Flathead Valley artists, Mark Ogle, Joe Abbrescia and Bob Cavanaugh. Add to that workshops with AZ artist, Matt Smith for a well-rounded education.

“We, as artists, are so lucky to have Glacier Park at our back door. The scenery changes by the hour, which makes it such a wonderful place to paint,” says Mr. Garrity.
