Therese LaChance Ely

Kalispell MT

Therese LaChance Ely received a college degree in biology and chemistry. She works in traditional oil paint, drawing on the breathtaking beauty of the local landscape to create plein air and studio pieces. Ely’s paintings are in a naturalistic representation of the landscape in the realism style. The farther from the car and farther up the trail into bear country to find those lesser-known spots truly excites Ely to paint.
Ely is a member of the Hockaday Museum of Art and participates in their annual Glacier Plein Air Paint-out and Salon Shows. She received the top award in the Hockaday Member’s Salon exhibit in 2020. This award means a great deal to her as it is voted on by the visitors of the museum. She has also had her paintings accepted into the top 100’s in the National Paint the Parks program
